Privacy Policy

This page describes how Smile of Sweden processes personal data in connection with the website and the contact form. It does not cover the clinic's patient records.

3. What data we process

Via the contact form: name, phone number, email address, preferred contact method, whether you are a new or existing patient, preferred day or time, and an optional message. We also collect certain technical security data (for example, data used to detect automated spam) when the form is submitted.

4. Purpose

We use the data to answer your questions, handle contact and appointment requests, prevent misuse of the form, and ensure the website functions correctly.

5. Legal basis

Contact and appointment requests are processed as a measure prior to a possible agreement, at your request. Technical security data collected to prevent misuse and spam is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in a functioning and secure website.

6. Sensitive data

Please do not include your Swedish personal ID number or sensitive medical information in the contact form. The form is not designed for patient records or medical information, and is not encrypted beyond the website's standard secure connection (https).

7. Recipients

The website is hosted with the web host one.com. The contact form is handled via the WPForms plugin, which runs on the website's own server – the data is not automatically shared with any other external third party beyond this. The message is sent as an email to the clinic's own email address.

8. Retention period

Data submitted through the contact form is normally kept for a maximum of three months after the enquiry has been closed. Data may be deleted earlier on request, where the conditions for deletion are met. If the contact leads to dental treatment, the relevant data is then handled under the rules that apply to patient records.

9. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

We are not currently able to confirm that any service we use transfers personal data outside the EU/EEA.

10. Your rights

You have the right to information about, and access to, the data we hold about you, the right to request rectification, erasure where applicable, restriction of processing, and the right to object to processing and to data portability where applicable.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you can contact the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY): www.imy.se.

12. Security and updates

We work to protect your data in a reasonable manner, but cannot guarantee absolute security when transmitting data over the internet. This page may be updated over time.
